urgent mac issue Can i hide the Mac's hard drives in finder

i dont know if this is possible but can i hide the mac's hard drives in finder as i do not want the kids browsing the local drives

 

we have workgroup manager running can this be done

 

i know that i can hide the drives from the desktop but i need to block all access to Makintosh HD and Bootcamp Dives

i have hidden the network part in finder (so I thought)

 

but then i goto file open the devices list shows macbook1 this is the name of the machine can i remove this

Finder - > Preferences - > General tab - > Uncheck "Hard Disks"

Ohhhh and maybe look at the sidebar tab aswell

Name your windows partition starting with a dot. Mac HD should have permissions to stop damage etc...

the issue with the drives has now been sorted

 

i changed some settings in the plist for sidebar to set the drives to nevervisible

 

i will try rename the bootcamp drive starting with a dot and see what happens

As far as I am aware the dot solution does not work (didn't for me), however the solution found at How-To: Hide a Boot Camp Partition - Mac-Forums.com worked perfectly for me, for the purpose of hiding the BOOTCAMP partition.
