ihaveaproblem Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 that is really odd as they use the same code....perhaps its because they use the format proxy.RBC.org.uk : 8080 format? hmmm.... as for the errors...robk is emailing me a camtasia vid of the errors that come up...I will use that as my point of origin to fix the problems Sorry I have no idea why the proxy settings dont work^^ I dont know any coding. If you need any more videos or screenshots give me a shout and I'll get some for you.
featured_spectre Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 Proxy problem fixed (I had the same error...I just didnt link it properly)...now working on the rest
featured_spectre Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 I am gonna work on the 64bit stuff tomorrow when I am at work, I got full access to win7 64bit there so will be easier for me
Steve21 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Okay i've tested. Here are the problems I still get on Windows 7 Pro x64 The following crash with the error I showed in my previous post = disk defrag, system restore The following give the message 'command cannot be found when clicked' = presentation manager, msconfig, printer migration, component services Apologies if Neph prefers to answer, but just thought I'd give my two cents The "command cannot be found" is a counter to stop the program crashing if it tries to run a program it can't find on your system. (So I'm assuming it's not yet been added to the disk defrag/restore, else they shouldn't crash but would give the messages. I'm sure it would help neph if you were able to post the locations of your actual files (exes) for the ones that crash, so they can be added into the location checklists. But again, apologies if unwanted help, just my two cents Steve 1
featured_spectre Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 Beat me to it steve thanks for the reply...have some rep!
featured_spectre Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 I think I have fixed most of the links...if any dont work on this version, please post up the path to said application and I will fix it!
mac_shinobi Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Any takers to test this version? Is this just a windows 7 util / app or will it work on xp, have xp pro 32 bit at work here
featured_spectre Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 you can try xp....but dont have that here so I cannot guarantee if it will work at all!
Bezwick Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Thanks Nephilium, its a handy little program and have version 1.2.2 installed, our Proxy for the the whole of the Nottinghamshire county is filter.nottscc.gov.uk:80 if you would like to add us to your list. Also just one small point tools like GPResult, Netstat etc run but flash up then go. Any chance you could add a press a key to continue at the end or output to a popup, so that we can see the results. Cheers
Steve21 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Is this just a windows 7 util / app or will it work on xp, have xp pro 32 bit at work here Tried it on my Vista (yes vista) and XP at home, and it'll work as in "working" assuming you have the .NET framework installed, but some things are missing as they're window 7 only, examples being things like display presentations etc etc so obviously they don't work Steve
mac_shinobi Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 (edited) you can try xp....but dont have that here so I cannot guarantee if it will work at all! Not sure if it helps ( as on xp ) but am getting that "command cannot be found" so am guessing msconfig must be located in different locations between the different OS'es hence the error, also netstat makes a command prompt window flash and vanish really fast So may need a pause in there so it stays open until a key is pressed Also for hostname, ip address info - maybe have a label on the right hand side centred and populate the label or a multi line text field with the relevant info instead of message boxes, maybe just me but I find messageboxes annoying Other than that great lil util @ Bezwick - version 1.2.2 has the option to add your own custom one so you should be able to do that Edited June 6, 2011 by mac_shinobi
Bezwick Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Yeah thanks Mac, was aware of it but read on the threads earlier people were sending proxy settings in and thought if he wanted to add Notts to a future version i would give him the info. Message was mostly to ask about GPResult and Netstat. @ Bezwick - version 1.2.2 has the option to add your own custom one so you should be able to do that Cheers
featured_spectre Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 Notts county one will be added in the next release...now working with ZeroHour on getting it translated to C# 2
mac_shinobi Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Notts county one will be added in the next release...now working with ZeroHour on getting it translated to C# Good job Neph
featured_spectre Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 New Version attached Release Info Added in Notts County Proxy Added Edugeek Logo to each tab Corrected some of the coding.
cromertech Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 One issue unless I'm just being a bit thick (first day back after half term and all that) GPresult: where does it save it's file. The command box just flashes up and disappears again edit: in fact it flashes up help text so not working???
featured_spectre Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 I have been made aware and this is because the parameters have not been specified by yourself, as such it wont work properly
mac_shinobi Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 It is being looked into though Now I just need it to make me a cuppa and some cookies
featured_spectre Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 Whilst I have not been able to fix the error with netstat, and ZeroHour works on the C# conversion, I give you V1.3 (about section added).

Arthur Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Still quite a few "File Not Found" messages on 64-bit Windows 7 (Ultimate) e.g. Disk Partitioner, Registry Edit, System Restore*, Performance Monitor. * This button says "Command not found" when clicked.
