At the moment all user profiles are stored on a single member server.

For some silly reason I feel if I have user profiles hosted in a DFS this would decrease the chances of a roaming profile not loading at all whilst increasing its availability.

Would it be advisable to have every users roaming profile hosted on a DFS share that will be replicated between 2 servers?

Yours thoughts please.

NB: This is nothing to do with App Data as this is redirected to users home directories.

I do this with our mandatory profiles, DFS should mean that you increase availability and also increase speeds (2 servers serving instead of just one). I suggest testing with just a couple uf users to start with and see how they functions, then try further from there. Most of our storage is under one DFS tree, not necessarily replicated, but it hides the back end from the user quite well!

Cheers
