cpjitservices Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 seems like you got it all except for GP's and some things others have stated
brickwall53 Posted May 19, 2011 Author Report Posted May 19, 2011 I have .... a. Created 1 Domain Controller Server b. Added 1 PC to the Domain c. Created 1 user that can Logon to the domain. I now need to a. Create a mandatory profile for pupil users b. Add pupil users on mass to the server. Any help would be great..... Also should I install some software to manage the AD Thanks John
Firefox Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 Installing the RSAT tools should be ample for managing your AD environment Configuring DFS? Using a Key Management Server? Update firewall rules? (if they relied on old server name\IP's) Were you using WINS in your old setup? are you confident nothing now relies on this? If you have the budget, I would create a 2nd DC for resiliency (not essential, but good practice). Are you going to be solely responsible for managing the AD? if not I would make sure you protect your objects from acidental deletion Or if you're fully 2008 enable the AD recycle bin :-D
