ICT Resource booking system

Hello,

 

our stie will shortly be a split site and so a booking system for the growing number of cameras etc is becoming more and more important.

 

Do you chaps and chap'ets have any suggestions for ideally free solutions?

 

We have a bunch of cameras, laptops and etc etc that can be used through out the school but keeping track of them can be a nightmere, The current issue is that it all goes through me at the moment so if I am not at my desk and out on a job across site then the whole system falls apart. It would be great if there was a central database or somesuch so any member of the ict support team can easily log stuff in and out.

Do you use any Web Browser Based Library software? we use Eclipse.net here and just have stuck a barcode on everything - scanned in and out to each student/staff

We use BookIT. It's simple but effective and the site licence for a school is £160

Really great piece of software to use for effective ticket management and resource booking. Your staff will really engage in it even if there IT skills are not great. I think if you contact them they even be able to offer you a trial for 30 days.

If you're using exch 2007/2010, create equipment/resource mailboxes

Have a look at mrbs. You dont have to use it for booking rooms

Depends on what verison of exchange you can create resource mailboxes.
