Why are you using WGM to control Adobe Apps? With that said, the user you are logged into the computer with, is it a standard user or admin?

Does anyone know what would be best to lock down the macs

should i create a list of apps that can run

or create a list of things that cant

trouble is i do not really know what to add to a cant run list

any ideas?

Ive found this a tricky subject to deal with. I tried this to begin with but it was more trouble than its worth, if you block an app, you need to make sure that nothing depends on it, otherwise that'll break as well. I've found that portions of CS5 - particularly flash and dreamweaver and indesign fail to run properly unless run as local admin or with admin privileges.

would allowing the adobe folder in applications to be run and then blocking the uninstall app work

not happy with the macs at the moment but im sure they will be ok when they get deployed.

kinda bitten off too much in one chunk

migrating to windows 7 and creating a mac suite at the same time

windows 7 seems ok now after spending hours looking at the group policy setup

Not quite sure what you are trying to achieve. If it is to prevent the uninstallers for each Adobe product running you are wasting your time. To run an installer/uninstaller on a Mac, you must be an administrator or a user with admin rights (hence no viruses on Macs) .

so should i just not use the workgroup manager to restrict programs as limited users cant run anything they should not need access to like directory manager etc
