Edu-IT Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Anyone here using Pcounter with Office 2010 and willing to test something for me? If you have a Samsung printer then that's even better, but, I think this problem will exist across all printer manufacturers.

Edu-IT Posted April 4, 2011 Author Posted April 4, 2011 (edited) In Publisher 2010 you will see an option on the print page to change from Composite RGB and Composite Grayscale. Within your printer driver make sure you choose colour printing but within Publisher choose Composite Grayscale. Does Pcounter log this as a colour page or a mono page? On our setup it's logging it as a mono but when you do it the other way round, choose mono in the driver and colour within Publisher it correctly identifies that it's going to end up printing a mono page. So, in essence, Pcounter seems to pick and choose where it's looking to determine colour/mono and I want to know whether this happens for you too. Edited April 4, 2011 by Edu-IT
Steve21 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 "On one printer" Seems to do same for us, Printer set to colour, Pub set to Grayscale. Uses colour cost. But then tried it on another printer, and that one auto changed the printer config to whatever the document was set at for my user. Steve

On ours, it seems to be looking at the setting in Publisher. I want it to use the printer setting and disregard the Publisher setting as this has no effect on what comes out the printer.

By defult printer set to Colour, change setting via publisher to greyscale and on the webrelease page it is there as a mono print. Also works the other way around.

Must be a driver thing then, we have the Samsung CLP-620's. What printer language is yours set at in the driver config?

I cant find where is says what language, but when I installed it I couldnt specify what language so I assume it is set to English

Big_Ted Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Did you try setting up the printer on the local machine and direct printing to it? if its still an issue then you know its not pcounter.
