Steven Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 (edited) Hi Everyone, We are having wireless problems in one particular area of the school and this has been an on-going problem. We have 3 Access Points in that building which has 5 rooms in it, 3 of the Rooms have AP's in. There are sets of 30 laptops in each room in that building and it seems that non of the laptops are able to login or fail to login as the wireless connection seems to keep dropping. Sometimes it can take around 25 minutes to get 4 users logged in and its very slow. Anybody got any ideas? We have tried changing channels etc but still no luck. Thanks Access Points used are: zf7942 Firmware up to date etc Edited April 4, 2011 by Steven
localzuk Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 What AP's are you using? What speed are they connected to the network at? How many hops from the servers are the APs? How large are the network profiles? What model laptops, and with what wireless cards? What speed do they generally connect to the APs at?

localzuk Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 You aren't the first person to have issues with Samsung netbooks - http://www.edugeek.net/forums/networks/70427-wireless-issues.html http://www.edugeek.net/forums/networks/49707-slight-problem-samsung-n130-ruckus.html http://www.edugeek.net/forums/hardware/51059-anyone-using-samsung-n130s.html My suggestion would be look at updating the drivers on the netbooks, and also update the firmware on the ZD. Also, 100Mbps connections back to your network are not really fast enough for that density. You need 1Gbps to connect them back.
