Would you know what to do if you knew someone was having one?

 

I was actually the most scared I have ever been making this 999 call this afternoon for my Mum. Luckily she's ok and only had a mini one but my Dad didn't even know what was happening.

Yes. Having worked in an old folks home in my time, we got taught to look out for it! Surprising amount of people know about them and signs of them but dont do anything!

My Grandad suffered from strokes, but before this ad campaign,even though he had them, I'd have never have known how to spot one. I think the campaign from the NHS is great.

I like to think I do, particularly since my father-in-law had one in January 2010... that made me very aware. In FIL's case it was my mother-in-law who realised what was happening and made the call. He's made a full recovery and the hospital said it was entirely due to my MIL's quick thinking.

 

Hope your Mum makes a similar speedy recovery MatthewL.

quite honestly i dont think i would, no. despite seeing the adverts and reading about it i dont know if i'd be able to spot something like that for certain should i see it.

i suppose its one of those things, unless you are in that situation it's hard to say for sure.

Luckily yes but only thanks to my training and experience in care.

 

Definitely well done on spotting it and to mirror everyone elses hopes for a speedy recovery. Gotta be worth a few roast dinners
