johnj1710 Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Anybody out there know how I can get hold of one of those special little allen keys with a hole in the middle of it that opens up the base case of the RM All-In-Ones (the early ones).
russdev Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Contact your rm sales team they can get you one sent out... Russell
plexer Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Any good local tool shop should stock them. They also come in the sets of security bits you can buy from maplin etc... Ben
saundersmatt Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 They are called Security (or TamperProof) Torx bits. We recently had to get some tiny ones T5 and the best deal we came up with was these from cpc. I believe the all-in-ones use a T10 or T15 bit. Matt
webman Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Very secure if anyone can just go online and buy a set
maniac Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Use a small flat blade, it wedges in at the top of bottom of the little pin, and allows you to undo them easily if you don't have the correct tool. You can buy the right tool from most electrical shops such as maplins, or good motorfactors will also stock them.
Ric_ Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 You mean one of these tools? http://www.buzzle.com/pix/illustrations/hammer.gif
johnj1710 Posted March 5, 2007 Author Posted March 5, 2007 Thanks people, have ordered suggested gear from cpc. Like the hammer idea best (bl*@dy RM)......
TechMonkey Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 99% sure we just phoned up support and they sent us out one free.
bossman Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 We have no problems this way as we don't procure any workstations from RM we just use the server overlay to help with administration which makes life a little more tolerable. I would migrate to srver 2k3 if there were less issues with locking down for students. As it is we have it set up as we like it and everything works. So as me old dad said "If it ain't broke don't fix it!" makes complete sense to me.
nebapneb Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 just raised a support call to get one can't be bothered to ring them up now if only i can get my schools to stop buying RM gear...
nebapneb Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 oh meant to add long time lurker first time poster doh!
