woodie23 Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Hi Guys, Hope you can help, I've basically got a new laptop battery for my Packbard Bell Easynote laptop and I have replaced one for it in the past but I had to do some some steps to get the laptop to recognise the new battery. The only problem is the new one didnt come with these instructions like the old one and the ebay person I bought it from doesnt know the steps either, Before I send it back to him I just wondered if any of you knew these steps and could advise me on them so i dont have to send it back. If anyone could help that would be great Many Thanks, Ed
synaesthesia Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Steps? For batteries? Someone's been having you on and it's not April 1st yet. Remove old battery. Fit new battery. Fully charge. Use.
AngryTechnician Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 I think you're referring to battery calibration? Try this.
synaesthesia Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 My word, cracking quality machines then - I haven't had to do a complete discharge cycle since the old Compaq N series (N400/410/600/610)
jerads49 Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 It should be a li-ion laptop battery, so you shouldn't have to do the fully discharge and recharge cycle. If for some reason it's a nickel based battery, than yes it would be appropriate to perform the cycle; as those types have memory effects.
