About jerads49

  1. Yes, in most cases it will be fine as long as it's plugged into the mains. But some just aren't made to work without laptop batteries in them, even with the AC adapter plugged in. Sony Vaio is one in particular that's made this way.
  2. It should be a li-ion laptop battery, so you shouldn't have to do the fully discharge and recharge cycle. If for some reason it's a nickel based battery, than yes it would be appropriate to perform the cycle; as those types have memory effects.
  3. There is the Laptop Battery Power Monitor Tool that's part of the Desktop Central Free Windows Tools 2 package. You can monitor the battery power of laptops in a network, and can specify alerts to sound when percentage drops below a certain level.
  4. Well, you can help extend the life of laptop batteries yourself fairly easily. Just keep your wifi, bluetooth, syncing apps, and gps related apps turned-off when your not using them, because they continously are searching which drains the battery a lot. Also, reduce screen brightness and use the built-in battery usage screen to check the features that are using up most of your battery.
  5. There is Desktop Central Free Windows Tools 2 that has a tool within the package. Download that and click the Laptop Battery Power Monitor Tool from the launcher to bring the tool up. This monitors the battery power of the laptops in the network periodically and makes alerts by playing a sound when the power falls below a specified percentage.
