karan_jhr Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 I wonder why USB pendrives doesnt work on Windows Server 2003 It detects it even shows in Device Manager but i cant browse it? Am i doing something wrong? How can i use USB on windows 2003 When it works on Windows Server 2000, i wonder why it doesn't on Windows Server 2003!!! Any help suggestions?

SYNACK Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 It could be that they actually have the drive letters defined on the drives themselves and that the server has more drives including one with a letter that overlapps the defined one. If this is the case USB fixed drive E and server already has a drive E then it will not mount the drive. Go into drive manager, right click and assign the USB key a different unused drive letter. It should then mount in explorer and be fine. 1
pheroman Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 try another usb that u use it maybe dameged although go to group policy and make sure that u don't disable it , at my work location we disable using usb for protect our network
