localzuk Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Its difficult to comprehend the scale of this sort of thing for most Brits, as we simply don't suffer from natural disasters like this. Our earthquakes rarely hit 3.0, we get a bit of flooding sometimes but that's about it.

Hopefully we will be OK, have managed to escape all of everything that has happened down this part of the world so far.. Not exactly going to cause the world to explode. There are many people on the net claiming that events like this are going to be caused by the moon being closer than normal. That is where there is no scientific evidence.

RSOE EDIS - Emergency and Disaster Information Service Japan is lit up with warning symbols. Been a lot of quakes, recent ones have occurred at about 11.30 and just after midnight at about 5.1 magnititude.
CAM Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Watching Russia Today this morning, turned it on to be greeted by reactor 1 exploding! Keep tabs on this, looks like this story will dominate the news for a while if it goes into emltdown and causes massive radioactive poisoning of the area around it. This is turning into Chernobyl 2 and more reactors are indicating leaks after the earthquake.
