dsk Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 (edited) Our libraries are setup with terminal services. We were hounded to upgrade the office software to 2007 and did so. We simply removed the older version and installed the new version (reboots as necessary). For some reason when students try and open their files from the USB sticks, they get a message stating the files is in use/locked. The files are no open anywhere else and not locked as can be opened/edited fine on a standard machine with Office 2007. Not really sure whats going on or why, didnt have this issue with Office 2003. Our terminal servers are running server 2003 R2 SP2. Any hints/suggestions welcome. Thank you in advance. Edited March 9, 2011 by dsk
andyturpie Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 We had issues not dissimilar to yours. We reflashed the TC with the latest version of thinconnect (if your using HP TC's), ran a delprof.exe on all the terminal servers and restarted. It seemed to do the trick. Keep me informed
dsk Posted March 9, 2011 Author Report Posted March 9, 2011 Our HP think clients are really old (2005) and were updated with the latest downloads about 2 years ago. I did actually try deleting the local user profiles as i assumed it might be related to some caching somewhere, though this didnt work for the users having the issue.
