Paint Shop Pro 4 over network - runs but with error...

We run Paint Shop Pro networked and it's fine for our XP clients and it's useful for simple edits and screen captures etc.

 

Under windows 7 which I am testing the following happens on clicking the shortcut.

 

"Failed to update the system registry

"Please try using REGEDIT"....

 

This is the same for my admin account and for my test pupil.

 

After clicking "OK" to clear the error the software seems to function normally.

 

If I right click the shortcut and choose "run as administrator" the software opens normally and then works fine for subsequent openings too. This is obviously not a solution for the stanard pupils though...

 

Any ideas?

Seems now that I have "run as administrator" once, the error clears for all users.

Does your school teach history of computing?

 

Regshot is handy for these types of things. You can use it to see what's being changed in the Registry either make reg files of just change perms for that part of the registry.

That's impressive. I keep trying to kill off the remaining users of PSP 7 here and thought that was pretty dire.
