HMCTech Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Just wondering if there are many keen runners here, if so what distances do you race at frequently?
JoeBloggs Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 5k & 10k... not so much a keen runner, but I do it usually when theres no football on
taff Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I normally run distances between 10k - half marathon. Currently training for a 10-miler in 2 weeks time. All of which I suppose qualifies me as a keen runner...
Iain.Faulkner Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I've just started doing "Parkrun" at my local park. Only 5km each time but I enjoy doing it.
stevenlong1985 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I try doing 2 to 3 miles a week, going to be increasing soon as I train again for the Birmingham Half Marathon
HMCTech Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 What sort of times are people getting for their 10k's and half marathons
JoeBloggs Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 i'm a football runner, not a runner runner! so i do about 50mins for 10k... some mates faster some slower i never knew how different playing football was to running! football is all about recovery rate, running is just non-stop!
stevenlong1985 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 My time in the Birmingham Half marathon was 2 hours and 18 mins by my clock
box_l Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 (edited) I run 10 miles each weekend, and I just ran the "muddy woody 6" in Hereford. http://www.wyevalleyrunners.co.uk/muddy-woody-6-2011-wye-valley-runners-race-report-feedbackphotos-lost-found/ 6.8 miles of rough cross country in 66 mins. My 10 mile time on the road is approx 1hr 15 mins My knee needs to recover though. :-( BoX Edited February 28, 2011 by box_l
AMA Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I'm a keen runner, currently training for the Stockholm marathon. Best (only) half marathon time: 1:50.
