Hi All,

Im just curious as to what's the size's of your images, mine are around 11GB with all the software installed, the main issue is all the drivers I have bundled onto it so I can deploy to different types of hardware, if anyone has a better way of doing it, then please let me know!

Cheers,

Doesn't sound too bad, I think ours once compressed in Ghost works out to be around 8 or 9 but we do not have loads of software on ours, mainly Office, AV and all the updates etc.

Mine is 7GB with light compression, Windows 7, Office 2010, Encarta 2007. The rest is provided by MSI deployment and ends up at about 14GB when expanded and all the other stuff is installed from the network.

We use MDT with WDS to deploy which allows for driver injection which only installs the required drivers at install time from the central database store. I am not sure if driver injection works with XP but its worth checking as its a great feature. MDT and WDS are free addons to any Windows Server.

Edit: I notice not that this is the FOG forum so you probably don't want to switch to WDS. You could look at a hybrid though, Fog to deploy an installer image that would then grab the image via WDS from a windows server but thats going to be a complex setup just to get driver injection.

Ours is about 3.5Gb on the server, 7Gb ish when on the clients but it's just XP, Office and some stuff like acrobat reader. The image is pretty universal, running on various models of Dells, HPs and Lenovos - desktops, laptops and netbooks. The drivers are added in specific to the models and put in the sysprep folder so they're deleted once sysprep has done its stuff.
