Hoe can I create face photos all the same size?

I've a got a whole class of 30 photos. I need to crop them all down to:

Width 73

Height 110

 

The original photos are 2304x1728.

 

Is there an easy way to do that? I don't mind manually saying where to crop on each photo but I don't want to spend an age drawing 73x110 rectangles then to go through the process of cutting and saving...

 

IrfanView will batch resize them but I want to choose the part of the face to centere on.

 

Eventually I will need to do the whole school.

Have you looked at Windows Powertoys? There is an image resize tool in there, but that will just resize the whole photo, probably not ideal if you have a large area you need to crop out.

If you got to the point where each photo was fine but just too big, it would do the job.

If they all need to be croped in the same spot and then resize them, a photoshop batch action can do that.

If you have access to photoshop then a batch job - you can put a stop where you want so it can do the open, rezize automatically then stop at the crop, choose the area, then carry on, save, open the next one. I had to set up something similar where we had 3 students in a photo and they wanted just the heads at a standad size.

I have the same problem for ID badges etc. Paint.net can do it one by one by using the 'rectalgle select' tool and then selecting 'fixed size' from the tool bar (not the floating toolbar - the one with the word 'normal' as default).

GIMP - Downloads to the rescue

 

You set your rectangle select to the size you want and then tell it to fix it to that size.

 

Whatever image you open up from then on, it will only let you select the size that you fixed it to.

 

Just move the selection around and then crop to the selection and save.

 

onto the next picture and do the same - select, crop and save.

You might be able to save yourself some keystrokes by making a script but prob not worth the effort.
