I like the HDMI component.

I find that some apps (probably badly written) really sap the power.

 

Anything that refreshes automatically has a serious drain on power as they turn on and use the data radio every time - PITA!

I use it and my battery life is infinitely better, as is performance! You can set up profile so [on mine for instance] when the screen is turned off (i.e. phone is not being used) the processor is limited to 1/4 of it's potential speed, then when you are actually using the phone it overclocks by about 10%. I've also got it set up to limit the processor by 50% when battery is low (you can set priorities on any rule you set up). Really great app!

Interesting! Worth the £1.24 I trust?

 

I would definitely say so myself, however if you're a little wary then there are always apps like APKTor that'll allow you to "try before you buy" (or so I'm told...)

Location based power apps are good. Get the phone to auto turn of say the wifi when you go out.

With that spec, you'll be lucky if the power lasts an hour! Battery life is a big bugbear for me. I'm lucky if my Android lasts 24 hours with moderate use.

The new dual-core smartphones have quite good battery life actually (see reviews below). The quad-core phones out later this year will probably be okay too.

Everything is a "killer" these days, but for some reason the thing they are trying to kill never gets killed. I have to agree with David Pogue - there will never be an iPhone/Android killer.

 

Things don’t replace things; they just splinter. I can’t tell you how exhausting it is to keep hearing pundits say that some product is the "iPhone killer" or the "Kindle killer". Listen, dudes: the history of consumer tech is branching, not replacing.

 

TV was supposed to kill radio. The DVD was supposed to kill the Cineplex. Instant coffee was supposed to replace fresh-brewed.

 

But here’s the thing: it never happens. You want to know what the future holds? O.K., here you go: there will be both iPhones and Android phones. There will be both satellite radio and AM/FM. There will be both printed books and e-books. Things don’t replace things; they just add on. (Source)
