Were looking for an online perhaps flashed based piece of sftware to create basic loops and music tracks for the DIDA qualificaiton, can anyone suggest anything?

It's not online but we use Audacity (it's free). We actually run it across the network without any problems.

 

Out of interest are you staying with DiDA we decided to drop it pretty quickly and and are doing the OCR course instead.

We have audacity but then we would need kids to download loops etc, was wondering wether there a web based version whihc has a number of loops preloaded for instance.

 

Were sticking with dida, kids seem to enjoy it, steep learning curve though but staff rising to the challenge.

I had used FlexiMusic Composer,it is probably the best for a beginner. It has everything you need to create music. Have a try

Not for any qualification, but we had the kids playing with the 'Onion Street Music Machine' on the BBC website and they loved it...

EJay may be 'EVIL' but its EASY to use/learn.

Audacity is good for splicing up samples, but not good as a sequencer (EJAY is a simple sequencer), a better editor is Sound Forge, but that comes with a price tag.

 

Want to go the whole hog?

Cubase for PC.

Logic for Mac.

 

Although I'm hearing good things about sonar...

 

But for what you want to do I think your best bet is Ejay + Audacity, Cubase and Logic is stepping deep into the realm of music production, and is far more advanced than just sequencing samples.

 

However none of this software is web-based, such sequencers that ARE web based that also allow you to SAVE off your stuff are few and far between...

 

I'll scream Ejay once more because it sounds pretty much exactly what you want. Has loads of loops, you can import your own and you can save off your work. People might not like it because its simplistic and isn't designed for real music production (like cubase or logic), but it does the job.
