[css] Student & Teacher Blogging and Social Solution?

We're looking for a student to teacher blogging and social network solution. Each teacher wants their own page with the ability to add docs, images and links only on their page.

 

I would like it to synch with our Active Directory (it's a local web server) so I don't have to manage another set of user/passwords.

 

Any suggestions on a solution you have success with?

You could have a look at Wordpress mu - I'm sure it's possible to connect with AD with an addon or hack.

Also have a look at sharepoint foundation

 

Free version with windows server, ad integration out of the box. blogging, picture libraries, etc all included.

 

Used it to great success in the past.

We used Wordpress MU, now part of Wordpress called Network mode. Added a load of customisation scripts to pull lists of blogs etc out.

 

I can point you in the right direction of scripts etc if you wanted them.
