Is there anything we can run/do to try and track down(or even log) the issues?

I guess try a ping -t to EduGeek.net - The Front Page and see if you get any drop outs. I have never had the issue so I cant test it from my end and nothing obvious is wrong on the server.

I was getting very slow responses at home last night (Sky BB)

There was something going on last night as we slowed to a crawl on SKY BB as well. Lasted about an hour. A friend in the neighbouring town with Talk Talk also reported issues.

 

It seemed to affect mainly UK sites.

Edugeek(from home) seems OK now - can someone else who was having problems confirm this?

Yeah - seems ok now. Be obviously got act together. Think they had peering issues. We never use ISP DNS here anyway in case we need to fail to somewhere else, so it wasnt a dns thing (in any case, the resolver was rapiiid)

All I can say is it wasnt me nothing has changed our end.

DNS services are hosted by easydns as well so its not on the server itself and they report no outages.

The woopra side of things shouldn't be affecting anything because you're using the asynchronous code for their service and that doesn't stop the page loading, just acts like an ajax call instead. (It's blooming marvellous for bug tracking though ain't it!).

 

I too was seeing problems with the site on Be/O2 this morning but then I've noticed the entire thing has been slowly degrading over the last year anyway... Much better now though..
