Hi

I'm currently testing windows 7, and does anyone know why when i log on a network user to my test windows 7 machine, they get a black desktop and the grey start menu.

Im using folder redirection on documents, startmenu, desktop etc but im at a loss as to why this is happening

Many Thanks

All i use is folder redirection not roaming profiles. and there is no profile data in the netlogon folder

I take you mean \\domain\netlogon?

Im not specifying a particular desktop and i get the icons that i should, its as if it applies a different theme with a black background and the grey start menu. like the 2008 one.

Thanks

Ive hidden the C: drive but that would still allow access in the background shouldn't it?

if its just hidden yes i was thinking more allong the lines of having pupils (say) denied access to c:\windows\whereever the image files re i cant remember) or a tleast not set to inherit any permissions

I have applied the GPOs for load a specific background and theme which applies correctly. I think it may of been a group policy problem some where.

Thanks
