mcnallyfc Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Decided to play around with joining my W7 laptop to RM domain by creating new OU and blocking inheritance etc. Unfortunately something went amiss as now i cant log on as domain account or local admin! applies personal settings then just doesnt move on from the next screen. I have booted into safe mode and removed from domain but still same issue - its obviously trying to run a rm policy but im a bit stuck. Have run gpreport /h and outputted to html file to see whats going on but nothing obvious. Any ideas

Logs on fine as i always use W7 so know the domain\workgroup is needed when member of domain. It just stopping after applying settings.

mcnallyfc Posted January 28, 2011 Author Posted January 28, 2011 thanks - worked when i re-tried it how odd. Anyway didnt solve the problems unfortunately im stuck on black screen with white cursor. No freezing can move mouse etc but its struggling to do something with regards to whatever joining it to the rm domain did.

Kind of want to solve this in case i play around with other PCs/Laptops and joining them to current domain. Having said that its very doubtful i will try this again!
FN-GM Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I havent had this before to be honest so i am a little lost. The command above normal does the trick. But i have never dealt with RM networks so there might be something in there making it stick.

If you want to log on as the local administrator, username "Administrator" or ".\Administrator" If you want to log on as the domain administrator, username "Domain\Administrator"
