Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have an iMac and a Macbook Pro. I would like some software that can sync the documents between them on the LAN. I am running 10.6

Does anyone know anything i can use please?

Thanks

Wondering if you can use the migration assistant in the utilities folder, seems to be giving me the right options. Can't confirm this as I do not have another mac on the network to test this.

Another +1 for DropBox, I use it to have access to bits and pieces for various organisations I'm involved in, the LAN Sync is really quick good, and even works Mac > PC > Mac so all is good.

The only issue with DropBox is the 2GB limit unless you buy an account, so it could get picky if you went over that.

Yeah, the stuff I want to sync is literally documents (meeting minutes, PDF proofs of designs, etc) if I'm doing anything bigger then I either send it over the WiFi myself, or I use a memory stick ..

Synchronize! Pro X works very well, especially for a Mac illiterate like me! I bought a licence for this for here so that we could do a regular synch from our Mac Mini server which contains pupils files to a Windows share for backup purposes.
