Wow, lots of info to go on there......NOT

I think some basic rules of PD should be enforced & then listed before people post stuff like this.

well its a forum
Run by, and for, professionals. Do you expect busy people to answer questions so poorly written that we have to ask for clarification?

On another forum where I moderate, your post would have been deleted out-of-hand. It is a forum for theatre technicians, with a lot of "roadies" involved, and the standard of English is far better (and more strictly monitored) than here. Most of the foreign posters write better English than is sometimes seen here!

Some of the recent coments about poor literacy skills have actually been aimed at people who have varying levels of dyslexia ... this should not be confused with laziness to string coherent comment together.

In this particular case then yes, it was a poorly strung together request ... but please do not lump all the previous issues together.

I think a change in my sig might be needed ...

I usually have 'Sax, the perfect cure for dyslexia', but feel that a change may be needed now ...

Just go and add it to Gatt's ToDo list (so he can laugh at you) or ask on a forum for people who care.

Incidently does google.co.uk or google.de work?

oh and can we have a "STUDENT" title under his name so that we remember that he isn't an IT Tech, just a school pupil?

Like me? The difference is that I care about what I write, and if I'm unsure, I check my work.

Anyway, this is going OT. Maybe we should take some of this over to FFS...

I dont' think the initial subject should have been under general chat to begin with.

Right....

First. English, as Tony said people do have various levels of dyslexia and maybe a quiet pm was the way to go instead of pointing it all out in a thread.

Second. one comment on op fine but then to have several 'me to' posts seems a bit over the top.

As for student tags....ok then we need one for network managers, one that are only technicians, one for teachers, one for heads, one for lea bods.... you see where I am going here.

This is a public forum and anyone can join. Lets be honest, when students join then they get disappointed when they don't learn to hack the network :) as we just talk about BSF :)

The thing to remember when posting is would you mind your gran, mum, boss, student, parent or anyone else seeing it...

Also it is the role of any student tech's boss to make sure that if they are on forums like this that they act in the right way and if not to 'coach' them. We have all been young and keen. I do suggest the manager tools podcast for help on coaching etc.

Also if people are going to post a reply saying there is an issue with an op then please post how they can improve it.

Couple of issues i have taken up with OP but have taken this up off thread...

Right for now this thread is remaining locked and will discuss with Tony, Ric and Chris tomorrow about what to do with posts etc..
