karldenton Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Hi, Just wondering what you all do with your old toners / cartridges. I have hundreds in the office. Do you take them somewhere or send them off ? Thanks
TechMonkey Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 We use Recycool. You collect them and box them, give them a buzz and they email you a label and arrange a courier to pick it up. You get money as well but I think in 3 years we may have about £40, better than a kick in the teeth but not really a motivation. Link

teejay Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 We used to use Recycool, but they have a list of toners they will rcycle which changes on a regular basis, anything you send them that's not on the list they will charge for. We found Greentech will pay for a much larger range of toners and don't make charges for ones they can't recycle, so we get far more money from them than we ever did from Recycool.
elsiegee40 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I take a bag full down to the local Age UK (was Age Concern) shop every so often. They'll take anything... even our OKI ones that nobody else wants)

This I did not know, never been charged or had a bill. Unless the amount we are sending is off setting the ones we would be charged for.
teejay Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 They won't bill you, they just knock it off the balance until it reaches 0 and then not send any money or an explanation. They collected a few deliveries off us and we received no payment, chased with them and after a few back and forth phone calls, that was the explanation given. Just make sure you only send them cartridges on their price list and you'll be fine.
dgsmith Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Started using computerink.co.uk for empties. Got £65 credit from around 30 empty toners, and they even take empty compatible Konica and Brother colour toners too (as well as pretty much any OEM toner). Prices offered very reasonable and has really helped us out with us having virtually no money left now - we're having to go to any length possible to try and find money!
john Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Thomas Computer Supplies take mine away free when I ask them to
