mdrabble Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 (edited) Does anyone have an HTC Desire on 3? If so have you noticed any problems with signal since the 2.2 update? Thanks. Edited April 21, 2011 by ZeroHour
Dom_ Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I updated mine about a month ago, lost all signal whenever I was indoors... Went on to vodafone chat and they immediately offered to swap it for a new desire, have since avoided the 2.2 update!
LosOjos Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 To be fair, I hadn't made the correlation, but now that you mention it my signal did become quite sporadic (particularly when texting strangely) after 2.2 update (I'm on T-Mobile). I suspect it's an issue with the HTC Sense ROM though (possibly using a broken radio version?) because since moving over to the CyanogenMOD ROM my signal's been great
DAZZD88 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I have a Desire (on T-Mobile) and mine's been fine since 2.2 but then again 2.2 came out just before I got mine so I have no comparison. The signal sometimes does drop out a bit but I think that with 3G phones, they do it a lot when switching between 2G and 3G.
tech_guy Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I have a Desire with T-Mobile and the signal has always been a bit patchy at times but I think this is more to do with the areas I'm in than the phone itself. Haven't really noticed any signal difference with 2.2 although I can say battery life is better now.
TechSupp Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I have the Desire on T-Mobile, have linked it up with the Orange connection to try and cut out dead areas, reception is not that bad for me although as its relatively new to me cant say I noticed any difference befor 2.2. I have noticed the batter life/usage is alot better though (except if I turn the GPS on!). Anyone upgraded the battery to get a longer life when using GPS. Just wondering how much longer I would get with the GPS turned on and therse higher rated batteries I have seen advertised on FeaBay.
Dom_ Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Mine was fine until I updated - before I had a 1m squared deadspot in my living room, after I had to drive for 30 minutes to get signal, then if I went inside I lost it again :-| I tried all the fiddling suggested by googling the issue, to no avail. Contact your supplier and get an exchange!
