Assembly for KS1 & 2 anyone?

Overwhelming support from parents, but they wanted to see which episode so we invited them in to watch, and they thought it was a great idea.

Justice prevails - provided you overlook the several billion troubling aspects to the show. The overpowering whiff of entrapment, for one thing. elsiegee40 Posted February 8, 2011 Author Posted February 8, 2011 It's today and I'm exhausted. I've finally sat down and claimed my first cup of copy since I left home at 7.20am. I even missed out at morning break as I had to swap out a troublesome projector. All the main school from Year 6 to Reception have now been 'done'... follow ups definitely needed from Years 4 to 6. Ask the kids if they have people they know online and they all deny it. Ask them about their buddies in Club Penguin and they have loads... Point out that the Penguins aren't real, they're people... Do you know the people behind all your Penguin Buddies?... Of course they don't * sigh *

witch Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 You are so good and on the ball - I haven't heard anything from either school except for a mention about issues with sexting from my boss. I chimed in with my experiences of yesterday and..that's it! Even in the school where the guy kept trying to befriend little girls - nothing much has been said or done for safer internet day! On a slightly better note, your lovely document about privacy settings on facebook is going out to all parents - so that's something. Thanks very much for that.

Luckily our staff are on board and class teachers are delivering e-safety lessons themselves this week. The only bit I'm doing personally is a presentation to parents this evening. I feel so strongly about internet safety issues (You kight have noticed! ) and how people expose themselves to problems, that I just want to help people get it right. I'm more than happy to work with the kids, I think a change of face does them good anyway... it's just knackering! It's not like I'm doing it constantly. Our teachers do re-inforce e-Safety messages in lessons (hopefully, it's not just when I happen to be in there to hear it!) My work with the classes is just part of the week, the teachers are doing their own stuff too. EDIT We should have persuaded sysman to do an edugeek SID logo! Edited February 8, 2011 by elsiegee40

Did a bit of research on it...There is no entrapment as the predators do the following. Initiate the conversation Initiate the conversation regarding sex Initiate the conversation regarding meeting the decoy for sex The decoy just responds to the conversation Looking at some of the chat logs, some physically made me want to be sick!! Perverted-Justice.com - The largest and best anti-predator organization online Various US Police Forces have deputised the members of Perverted Justice and helped Dateline NBC and Perverted Justice perform these operations. MET Police and Thames Valley Police also run their own scheme similar to this.
