Dos_Box Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Just a quick note for all arriving to help Ric and John set up the stand on Tuesday. In the evening we shall, of course, all be going out for a meal and drinks (I hope you all like Chinese). You MUST wear a geeky t-shirt\top (not EduGeek). Anyone not doing so will have to get a round in. Sorry, but them's the rules *Oh, and you will need an Oyster card as well......possibly.
Dos_Box Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 (edited) OK. What time will that be? Ric is the boss there, so he needs to know y'see. Shaun, Tony and I will be dragging our carcasses from the Learning Without Frontiers conf on teh other side of the city and should be there about 18:30 At the end of BETT I would have spent 7 days doing exhibitions, so if anyone complains I'm using the sofas a bit too much prepare for a dirty look!! I should hopefully be there about 18.30 too - assuming nothings gone drastically wrong here...
featured_spectre Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Hang on. What do you mean 'I have no geeky t-shirt'? What kind of a tech are you? I am the "Cool" techy...My geekyness lies in gadgets and games, not clothes!
Hightower Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I am the "Cool" techy...My geekyness lies in gadgets and games, not clothes! Next you'll be telling us you have an iPad cool dude
featured_spectre Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I dont have an iPad...would never have what is essentially a glorified big version of the iPod Touch!! I do however pinch my stepdads Samsung Galaxy Tab when he isnt home!
GrumbleDook Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Does this mean I have to bring along my collection of geeky t-shirts and the full range of EG stuff to allow people to have something suitable? Talking of which ... I really need to replace my O'Really t-shirts ... they are getting a bit Pope-like. Can anyone suggest some decent alternates if I can't get any replacements? 1
Little-Miss Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 ... they are getting a bit Pope-like. What? Old and a bit evil looking? (I joke, i joke!)
robk Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 If anyones short of an oyster card I "think" I have three at home, will bring them with me. 1
Ric_ Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Does this mean I have to bring along my collection of geeky t-shirts and the full range of EG stuff to allow people to have something suitable? Not if that excludes the t-shirt borrowers from buying rounds!

BigPockets.co.uk :: Cool T Shirts :: www.bigpockets.co.uk the excess inventory specialists they used to have much better choice, there's a thread from 6months or so back with more links. they were really cheap at some point. a few times i've printed up custom ones - sad i know, but we are geeks after all. and it was designed online and printed by a company, not a DIY job I like " i read your email " , 'fcuk google' , what about getting some with avatars on it, like iPood or even a collage of avatars. that's not a bad idea for an edugeek tee @dosbox - i'm saving my geek tees for wearing at the show, was gonna glam up a bit for the evenings it's easier to get served
vikpaw Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 i got my reynholm industries mug from zazzle in the summer. looks like they do geek tees now too : The It Crowd T-Shirts, Hoodies, Custom The It Crowd Shirts and Clothing
GrumbleDook Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Just spotted some O'Really designs I don't recognise on Zazzle and will get them checked to see if they are legit. Wouldn't want to part with cash unless the originator of O'Really is going to get something from it.
vikpaw Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Not sure how i'm travelling yet, but will try and get there for midday(ish).
john Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Not sure how i'm travelling yet, but will try and get there for midday(ish). I'd advise flying from the Middle East Vik, its quicker than walking
