We have a a Sky+ HD box that has started to only record when you are actually watching the programme in question... which isn't very helpful!

We had a blizzard on Saturday that filled the dish with snow and I was inclined to think that maybe the dish had dropped out of alignment... for a while we couldn't use Sky at all.

We have powered off the box and powered it on again.

The only reason I'm doubting the dish is because we have an ordinary Sky+ box upstairs and that is still recording OK.

Any ideas please, before I start wasting my money calling someone out?

try swapping the feeds that goes up to the upstairs box for the ones that go to the hd box see if you can record now

How long have you had the box? If under a year, call Sky out!!!

Also, do you have other things recording in the background, as (here comes the teach your granny to suck eggs moment!!!) if you're recording one side, you can only record/watch one other side. You cannot record two programmes and watch a third channel.

(Again, apologies if you know that already ;) )

Yes you can. Have yet to fiddle with the connectors as I have spent all morning preparing for tomorrow. Should get round to it later.

Daughter reports success since the fiddling with the connectors and to her great joy Neighbours has recorded on HD! Son is making mince pies (my solution to the volume of food he consumes is to teach him how to cook!) and the rest of us are finding other things to do :D

Thanks and Merry Christmas all. :)
