What does anyone think to this laptop?

HP G56-106SA Laptop - Laptops | Ebuyer.com

Tesco have it for £359 and eBuyer have just dropped the price. I have always been warey of AMD laptops but just want something that is there for basics, I have a Samsung NC10 but need something a little bigger. I will not get much use more just to have a laptop than anything.

Any views before I order it?

I've spoken to people before who have also been unsure about AMD laptops, not sure why though.

The laptop i'm using to type this now is an AMD Turion 64 based HP Compaq nx6125 which i've had now for about just over 3 years without any issues. It's still nice and quick, doesn't get too hot and I think quite comparable to an Intel based laptop.

I think the one you've posted is a very well spec'd laptop that I personally wouldn't hesitate getting, mainly because i've always bought HP laptops.

One of the reasons I have looked at it with it been at HP as they score quite high in my books.

Actually just this minute ordered it got a good deal I think, here tomorrow for £5 delivery. We shall see what it is like.

Did you get it in time for delivery tomorrow as there was a cut off.

Good bargain laptop, I think I read some where than it can have up to 8Gb ram, will only cost £99 to get 2 sticks of 4Gb from eBuyer!

Parcelforce delivered mine, I don't think they use CityLink anymore.

Got mine and been playing with it today, its a great machine, very quick and not even riddled with that much crapware like you usually get. Defiantly got a good deal with this one.
