Simple question really. Do capita support sims on windows vista business ? our new pcs came with it and ive run out of xp licenses

The main part of sims does however I'd suspect some of the old add ons don't.

 

However your Vista Business licences might well have downgrade rights.

Yeah, I was just about to say that as well - check as your Viz Biz may allow you to downgrade to XP.

I have been using SIMS on Vista Business for nearly 6 months and it has never let me down yet.

No, it isn't. I checked on the hardware spec document on supportnet before posting.

 

ie. "Operating System (32‐bit only) —Microsoft® Windows XP Pro (SP2 and above), Microsoft Windows Vista Business (SP2) and Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (SP1).

Support for Windows 7 (64‐bit) will commence with the release of the SIMS 2010 Autumn Release. Please note that

this does not include support for 16‐bit applications, such as Nova‐T4 and legacy Timetable Printing routines. "

 

ie. 64bit Windows 7 support is there, but XP and Vista support is 32bit according to that. And the 64bit support does not include the old stuff.

I think you'll find that's an oversight. Win XP 64 bit isn't but Vista\7\2008\2008R2 are supported (either 64 or 32)
