This one is baffling me! I have a colour photocopier connected via USB to an XP client. It has both the xp drivers and the server 2003 drivers (64bit) installed. The xp client is connected via wireless. I want to share this through the server (overcoming the 10 client limit). Now the server see and connects to the copier without a problem. But when I come to add a new printer on the server (to share with the other clients) the printer will install but it will not print.

I have got this system working well in many other schools but never on a 64 bit server. I can only guess that that is at the heart of the problem. I have tried just about every possible combination of drivers, postscript, PCL 5c, PCL 6 etc with no joy at all. The server will print without a hitch to the copier but my "normal" way of sharing it just won't work.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Ian

Whats your normal way of sharing it?

Connect the server to the remote printer. Then add a local printer to the server but configure the port to the remote one. Then share this new printer on the network. Hey presto! Just not in this instance :(
