carvjo Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 ..whilst idly browsing and not really looking at other jobs (Let me know if you spot one in commuting distance to Kettering paying £40k+).. I saw this one: (May interest somebody strong on ITIL who lives or can commute to London) http://www.arkschools.org/media/1012%20IT%20Service%20Delivery%20Manager%20Information%20pack.pdf IT SERVICE DELIVERY MANAGER ARK Schools, 65 Kingsway, London, WC2B 6TD Start date: Immediate Salary: £50,000 The Role To manage the delivery of ARK IT services across a varied and complex IT estate in accordance with ITIL service delivery standards, a service catalogue and associated service level agreements.
Slartibartfast Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 There's also a Solution Architect role there.
GrumbleDook Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 They both look pretty interesting but trying to work out about the commute from St Pancras to the office ... that is what has put me off a few London jobs recently.
Slartibartfast Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 This is being advertised yet again! ARK Schools Application - Welcome
GrumbleDook Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Interesting to see why it has come up again? Anyone willing to PM me more background?
featured_spectre Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 If possible can I have more background info too please.
IanT Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 This is interesting...........I work with a colleague who used to work in the IT there......i'll ask him tomorrow, i do get the impression its an "interesting" place to work!
Kitkatninja Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 If this was closer to home, would love to apply for it.
pmartin008 Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Yes any further info would be welcome. I have Network Management experience which has recently grown to involve project management but not within the ITIL framework they are looking for. As the job has been up for so long they are either extremley fussy about what they are looking for or nobody is applying!
Slartibartfast Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 The job hasn't been up for long - they just go through Service Delivery Managers rather quickly.
john Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Agreed any info on why they don't last long would be appreciated
GrumbleDook Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Being an SDM in any organisation is a tough job and you live and die by the successes and failures of the people beneath you. It is especially tough when the people below you make cock ups and it is covered up by the SLT in their schools so *you* get to carry the can. (NB : I am not talking about ARK in this case but I am referring to a friend working for another MSP)
pmartin008 Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Suddenly it doesn't seem like such an attractive post. Think I'll stay where I am for now.
