Just been handed this software to install - never seen/head of it.

 

Has anyone installed it in a primary and what's it like to do?

 

(Please let it be - install on server and put shortcut on desktop )

I vaguely remember this from my previous school, and while I don't remember the specifics of the install, I don't remember it being difficult. Normally I remember the ones I end up swearing at, so suspect you won't have much trouble.

Straight forward, PM me if you have any problems whilst it's been a few years it wasn't difficult.

 

You can register the ocx controls on the PCs themselves (you might already have them registered) then dump it in a shared area.

as stated before, as long as you deploy and register the ocx its not a problem, should be a simple guide with it explaining the share permissions too. other than that we just have it running straight from the network share

We built a package for ours, which installs the software locally and sorts out all the OCX lark.

 

Fairly straight forward to do, but I think you will have to do it for yourself as I believe licence info is held in the package so I can't just send you our files.

Ahhhh yes I remember this properly now. I built an MSI using Advanced Installer to deploy the OCX files. The install guide was actually insanely helpful in that it detailed exactly which files needed copying to the machines and registering - it was practically a how-to for building your own installer.

I installed it last week to a network share, no problems :-)
