Seen a few threads on here but just wanted peoples opinions on which one to get and why, the ones I am looking at are :

OCZ Vertex 2e

Corsair Force

Mushkin Callisto deluxe

Crucial C300

Possibly an OWC Drive ( OWC Mercury Pro or RE Version )

Looking for a 240gb one btw and only want one drive - was contemplating RAID but don't want to knacker the drives up with how much they are.

I have used Intel and OCZ vertex drives in recent builds. I had an Intel drive fail on me in the 1st week, right after i'd set up all the customers software and transfered over his data from his old PC. It was a rare bug aparently, the drive only showed 8mb.

I installed 60Gb OCZ vertex drives as the PCs are only going to be running 1 peice of software in a retail environment and thought they'd be less likely be affected by heat and vibration. So far impressed with their performance.

I've got a OCZ Vertex II in my notebook and are loving every moment of it - boot up and resume from hybernate is fast and responsive and a 120GB drive will only set you back ~£180.

I have a Kingston 128GB SSD Now drive in my laptop. It's lookign a bit sluggish now compared to newer drives and reduces my laptop battery quite a bit as it seems to work at a constant rate rather than having power savign options like newer drives and conventional 2.5" discs which spin down when not beign accessed. I may just transfer this to my office machine as the boot drive and return to a conventional drive in the laptop.

I would buy pci-express based ssds now as they provide quite a speed boost and they say the sata interface is not the best for ssd's due to the nature of sata protocols.

I'm an intel only SSD person myself. I had some OCZ disks with dodgy firmware and they all broke - cost me a lot.

X25-E all the way. SLC baby!

Have they increased capacity of the X25 E yet ??

If you can find one that works with a 2008 mac pro and is bootable then I'm game !!!
