Video Editing for Primary School

Im looking for some simple to use video editing software to use in one of our primary schools, does anyone know of anything which is reliable and user/child friendly?

Yeah our kids make some cracking videos in Windows Movie Maker.

Another vote for Movie Maker. Chances are the kids have it at home and there are heaps of tutorials on youtube.

movie maker or i think the year 7's use photostory here for this kind of stuff

Windows Live Movie maker, also free and with Win7 even supports the random format that comes out of our Sony DV cams.

Could anyone give me some recommendations on what is best to use these days as sadly, Windows Movie Maker is not featured on Windows 10 anymore.

 

We have Photo Story 3 for Windows, but it is pretty old and limited if I am honest.

That's odd... I thought we had it installed as part of our build process on Windows 10 machines. I'll have a look when I get back into the Office after 11am to confirm.

Thanks, that would be great. All of the original Microsoft download pages for it have vanished, so it does seem they have pulled it.

Its in the photos app now after the fall creators update. You can select create a movie from the collections section.

 

IIRC Microsoft were going to create a separate app called 'Story Remix' , I think putting the video creation into the photos app is intended as a stop-gap measure 'til thats released.

Thank you, that is really helpful. What did you use to deploy it? I am used to doing MSIs, I can see you have a command file, how best did you use this?

We've used WPKG and SCCM to deploy the program in the past. Both work with batch/command files, so make deployment easier.

Thank you, that is very helpful. I have seen the mention of SCCM quite a few times on this forum. Can anyone recommend any good places to get training on its use, as I would like to make use of it more often if I can.
