robsmith Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 I hope someone can help. I have a customer who reported yesterday that any internal emails are undeliverable. This happened suddenly. External emails are ok. Any ideas please ? Rob
mrforgetful Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 What does the message tracking centre report? Do you mean that you cannot send or recieve Internally but you can send and receive external email? Or can you only send to external email?
robsmith Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 Thanks for your reply. The person doesn't know what the message tracking system is (to be honest neither do I) I am now informed that this is only affecting certain users. A real puzzle.
mrforgetful Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Maybe their mailboxes are full or over the send/receive limit?
robsmith Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 User reports that the mail boxes are within the limits .... now I am stuck
webman Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Are they typing the email address in correctly?
robsmith Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 Hiya. Yes the addresses are ok. I am going to log in remotely and see what the the message tracker has to say. (if it's enabled)
plexer Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Rob: Please fill in your profile to give us an idea of who you are and where you come from. Also are there any errors displayed or logged either in exchange itself or the system logs. If you create a new mailbox does it happen to them? Is there anything in common between the ones it does happen too? Anything changed recently? Ben
robsmith Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 Will do Plexer. The state of the situation at present is that the domain controllers are being rebooted. A person has suggested there may be a fault in the active directory.
Ravening_Wolf Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Not the fabled "A Person". You would not believe the amount of grief he has caused me over the years. I think he may also be closely related to Mr "My Son Works in IT" and Mr "A Bloke in Our Local Reckons"...
robsmith Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 Well what the 'A Person' suggested didn't work either. Back to square one
Mr_T Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Not the fabled "A Person". You would not believe the amount of grief he has caused me over the years. I think he may also be closely related to Mr "My Son Works in IT" and Mr "A Bloke in Our Local Reckons"... Sounds abit like "my mate who works in IT" and frequently for IBM
