Which set of Netbooks for a Primary School?

Yes, I did think about a slate but we need a 'normal' computer iwth keyboard as well and the devices that do both are very very expensive!

I'm quite pleased with them actually.

 

Was dreading having them in school but the NB200's have been here a year now with no issues and so when they wanted another netbook trolley i bought the NB300's. Nice sized keyboard, decent enough speed. Seem suprisingly popular with the staff once i had managed wireless put in.

To throw a curve ball into the mix. I've recently acquired, through some private business, an Olivetti OliBook S1300 which came preloaded with Windows 7 Professional.

 

It's a nice lightweight small laptop as opposed to netbook, so it has the benefit of a slightly larger screen (13"), but despite being lightweight and from a company you wouldn't normally associate with computers, it's surprisingly robust.

 

This (Olibook S1300) is the link. They also do a NetBook too (latest offering being Olibook M1025), but I've not experienced them. I understand they retail around the £300-350 mark.

 

Outside of that, I've used the HP NetBooks here and they can stand up to SLT, never mind children! lol .. or I've also used the Samsung Netbook range in a primary school previously, and they were good, but the screens were a bit on the small side for my liking, and the keyboards a bit fiddly.

I know .. I was shocked when I got this NoteBook. It works really well, and my 7-year-old has hammered it with cBeebies and CBBC usage, and more to the point, it's stood up to one of my step sons who managed to damage his Sony Vaio in a not very long period of time (I did flinch when he borrowed it - he's just one of these who is naturally clumsey .. lol)

We have 30 x 10.1" Fizzbooks running, its comes with lots of software, we are a comp. all on CC3 with Win 7 Pro.. Just putting in for 100 units now..
