newpersn Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 Ive set up a Windows Server 2008 to run as the "Sophos Sever." But im having problems trying to get it to install workstation software. Keeps coming back with the error Date/time Code Description 10/11/2010 15:42:21 00000034 Could not access the shared folder from which the installation program is run (this is the location you specified in the Updating Policy settings). This may be because the computer hosting the share does not have sufficient network connections available, or the installation credentials you entered in the "Protect computers wizard" do not have access to the share, or the share does not exist. Its installed fine in somerooms but now its coming back with these errors Any ideas?
speckytecky Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 I'd say give Sophos Support a ring on 0844 767 4670. I have many a time and find them First Rate.
Marci Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 (Unless you got it from YHGfL, in which case contact your LEA helpdesk, and they'll contact Sophos on your behalf (pah! daft idea tbh))
newpersn Posted November 19, 2010 Author Report Posted November 19, 2010 think i might have cracked it anyway. (fixed not anything else) seems to be a permissions problems. Have peeked around the setting and everything else for it. and its seems to be working alright. but the downside is that i gotta be logged on to the computer first to allow it to unistall and install the new sophos. :/
dirtydog Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 not a windows 7 machine is it? you seem to have to jump through a lot of hoops to get it to deploy to one.
newpersn Posted November 19, 2010 Author Report Posted November 19, 2010 with windows 7 its the AUC control kicking in. but not installed problery on any windows 7 computers yet. Will be soon as i'm gonna dual boot with XP. make the most of the hard drive i got in my computer.
