Just what I thought. And quite a bit cheaper than £156,000. This will of course now open the flood gates for other claims.

Sad or just plain greed ? To me it's greed - but the weak council are just as bad - this is not the first time they have paid out for settlements and it certainly won't be the last.

£11'000 for disability discrimination? uhhhh how? She got employed, she accepted the terms of where she got employed...there should have been no case...

£145'000 for personal injury? again, uhhhh how? She did this herself, as above she accepted the terms of employment, therefore her employers should not be liable for her willfully shouting and repeating herself....

How do we know it was from shouting in the classroom? She probably spends all her time shouting at her husband or her dog when she's at home.

She started working at the adult education centre in 2005 teaching English to foreign students, and had been given a classroom next to a courtyard used by schoolchildren during playtimes.

 

The teacher said that, as a result of the noise and disruption, she often had to repeat herself and raise her voice.

 

So it only got noisy at playtimes really it seems. I'd have just planned my lesson timings accordingly. Shocking work by personal injury lawyers, blood suckers the lot of 'em.
