Hidden My Documents

I wonder if you can help

 

My friends motherboard failed and he has given me his old Hdd to recover his documents off of. He had Windows Xp and i have windows 7.

 

I have attached the drive to my hdd caddie. Now when i brouse to the user folder where his My Documents should be its not there. It displays favourts ect but nothing else. At all but the file system has not changed since the pc crashed. Its the same for all the user on the Hdd.

 

I'm guessing it a permitions issue to the documents folder !! is there a program i can use to see these folders ect ... Please HELP !

If you boot into safe mode, this gives you access to the NTFS permissions for the drive in XP Home (or plug it into an XP Pro Pc). Change the permissions and owner on My Documents, recursively, to you. Should appear then.
