Afternoon,

Are there any licensing issues with giving staff the ACTIVInspire software for install on their home computers so they can develop resources in their own time?

If this is okay - what serial number do I give them and is there a special version to download?

Many thanks

Hi,

ActivInspire personal is free for any user.

If you have the Pro version on your machines (i.e you have entered a serial number into the version installed at school), then this allows each copy to be installed on another machine - with that serial number - for prepration use.

So, when you install ActivInspire on a clean machine, you are in fact installing the personal edition, but by inserting the serial number, you are "unlocking" Pro edition (i.e there is no "specific" version for pro and personal - it's the same file you would install, but only becomes Pro edition, when you enter the serial key).

So, if you have say 10 licensed versions of Pro edition, you can install Pro edition on 10 machines that will be used withe board, and on a further 10 machines for prep work.

Hope that explains it!
