It's amnesia time... iOS 4.2

Does anyone know when the ios 4.2 software update is being released? I'd got it in my head that it was today but it obviously isn't

it's in beta now. Apple will release when they feel it's good to release. I take it your looking for it for the ipad? No reason to update your iphone.... it's mostly needed for the iPad.

One thing though with 4.2 is it finally fixes the DST bug.

Like you say though iPad is in much need of 4.X love....

The beta has had a few issues but it cant be far away. I can bet huge amounts of money it will be before the 7th (or 9th?) of November as thats when USA's times change.

iOS 4.2 was released to GM early this morning (This is for us devs only !)

 

I would expect general release next Tuesday

Yup. It's gone to Golden Master (GM) as Dan says. It won't change now so release is very imminent.

I've been using it for the last fortnight and like it. It has fixed some bugs about using iPads in proxied environments so can't wait to get it out there on out mobile learning kits we have in some schools.

If I'm being honest I'm scared to update. Normally I'm up for new updates/features etc. but last time out (iOS4) my Wi-Fi died on me for around a month, even couldn't get connected on my home network...albeit I'm on 3GS, but still, no appage on iPhone makes it pretty much pointless as my Orange 3G (best coverage in the UK! not.) is crap and takes ages to load even the Facebook app.

 

I think I'll sit this one out...

One iPad done, another two to do

1 iPad done and a 3G iPhone, the internet gods must of been looking down on me because I managed to download both and install in under a hour, I’ve done a iPhone update which has take 3 hours to download before.

The amount of 'faith' you people seem to think goes into updating iOS is scary...

 

From an iPhone 4 you can setup free 'find my phone' on your itunes account (wording is intended).
