timbo343 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Is there a way to stop the IE7 welcome screen from appearing each time someone new logs into a computer? The kids here dont have profiles and the local ones get deleted every so often, and this is one reason why we havent rooled out IE 7 yet. Surely there has to be a way to automatically set the language setting, the clear type font and the home page so you dont get asked everytime a profile is deleted? T
Heebeejeebee Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 GPO The answer is in this thread. Thanks to the helpful people here I no longer get the nag screen of doom. HBJB
john Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 To make it quicker HBJB the location of the one for IE7 is: "Computer Config - Administrative Templates - Windows Components - Internet Explorer". Its the option to Prevent performance of First Run Customize Settings. I have mine set to go straight to the home page. Works like a chalm for me. Also in there you can turn off the blasted Customer Improvement Annoy the Hell out me program. For Media Player, replaced the "Internet Explorer" with Media Player and that option is Do Not Show First Use Dialog Boxes, does the same thing but with WMP, again works like a chalm.
ChrisH Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Im still having mixed results I cant figure it out. GPO set a reg entry set as well
