Online Payments

Hello Everyone,

 

Does anyone know of any 'free' or cheap solutions to this problem? I work for a charity and we would like to collect money from our members electronically so we can cut down on the amount of money we handle.

 

There is PayPal, but can anyone thing of any other solutions?

https://www.justgiving.com/charities/ - I don't know exactly how it works, I know they did offer recurrent type payments and donations.

It may be worth having a chat with the bank the charity uses, as sometimes they can provide the facility for accepting on-line payments, and I expect for a charitable organisation the normal fees for using such a service would be heavily reduced.

 

Don't write off paypal, for charities they have much lower fees and it's also relatively easy to integrate paypal into a website.

Also you get the brand recognition with paypal - people know they can trust it for online transactions

There was an item on Watchdog last week complaining about the amount JustGiving take out of the collected money as an admin fee. Should be on iPlayer.
