We're doing a slightly flashier school production this year (We Will Rock You - for those that haven't seen it it's a bit like Mamma Mia but with better music and a point:cool:) so I want to take the lighting desk out front, rather than being stuck in the wings with it. I therefore need to get hold of (or make up) some extension cables.

 

Long story short:

starter for 10 - what's this connector called?

Bonus question - where can I get a 30m extension cable for them from?

If so, then anywhere like Maplin's should do them...

Nice but I have a better name for it, but its not fully repeatable on here, but the bit that I can put is that stupid lighting desk cable I say that because ours are all gooey from liberal coatings of Gaffa from the kids as well as usually knotted up and they have lost the little screws that hold them together

8 Pole Preh DIN. Buying an extension shouldn't be too hard, 10 out of 10 or Stage Elecs etc. Shouldn't affect you in this case, but beware that Pulsar and Zero 88 both use the connector but wired differently!

Hmm We Will rock you..... If your feeling brave Screenmonkey is really good for triggering video effects, couple of old laptops and projectors, and some good creative graphics/video loops may save the need for lots of R & R lighting rigging. I do have a 50M extention drum for those connectors but sadly you seem a bit far away for it to be of any use!

Actually no - it is a half wall between me and the IT suite, and one of the guys who installed my new server is so tall (6ft 6in) that he can rest his laptop on the top of it and use it as a desk - and his name is Steve
