The BEST File Recovery Software (but not too expensive!)

OK, a little emergency going on here. What is the best file recovery software out there that won't cost the earth? I've not backed up an important folder that I've been working on and require it by tomorrow. Recuva shows the files there, but is pretty lousy at recovering them. Recommendations please.

GetDataBack is also ok at recovery.

 

I shouldn't suggest it, but as it's an emergency, you could obtain it from "the usual places" on the Hiren's bootCD, however that would obviously be frowned upon.

another vote here for @dwhyte85's suggestion of Testdisk, it's very good but you do need to specify some parameters for files to be recovered.

Thnaks everyone. I used Recuva as I had to leave it runnign overnight. A 1TB drive takes a LONG time on deep scan and I'm chuffed to bits to have got my document back

Now I have to go and sit on the sysadmin naughty step for practicing what I preach.
